Concert Ensemble Dresscode
In order to promote togetherness and a feeling of uniformity, North Star Arts has created this dress code to help you select your attire for performing in one of our ensembles.
Ladies
Ages 6-11
Midi length gown
Gowns must fall below the knee to calf-length, black, with no decoration. Black tights(not pictured) must be worn. Sun dresses, casual dresses, skirt slits, are not acceptable. Sleeves must be a length agreed upon for the occasion. Strapless dresses and spaghetti straps are not acceptable.
All ages
Accessories
Tasteful, elegant earrings and rings may be worn. Wedding sets may be worn. All earrings must be small studs. Necklaces, bracelets, and eyebrow, lip, tongue, nose, septum, snake bite, and Marylin piercings may not be worn.
Ages 12 and up
Floor Length Gown
Gowns must be floor length, black, with no decoration. Sun dresses, casual dresses, skirt slits, are not acceptable. Sleeves must be a length agreed upon for the occasion. Strapless dresses and spaghetti straps are not acceptable.
All ages
Footwear
Shoes must be black, in good condition, with no decoration. Shoes may range from flat, to a 2" heel.
No casual shoes may be worn. I.E. sandals, converse, tennis shoes, flip flops, boots, open-toed shoes.
All ages
Hair
Hair must be secured off of one's face in a tasteful style. Hair accessories must be black. Acceptable accessories include headbands, hair ties, bobby pins, and barrettes that are black in color, or that match one's hair color. Headbands may not be worn across the forehead. Additional accessories such as flowers, unnaturally colored extensions, tiaras, feathers, scarfs, rhinestone headbands, or jeweled bobby pins may not be worn.
Gentlemen
All ages
Attire
Acceptable attire for gentlemen includes a black button-down shirt, black belt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes.
